🧠 What is a Nerve Conduction Study (NCS)?

NCS, or Nerve Conduction Study, is a diagnostic test that measures how quickly and effectively electrical signals travel through your nerves.

During the test, small electrodes are placed on the skin, and a mild electrical impulse is applied to a nerve. The response is measured and analyzed to check for:

  • Nerve damage or compression

  • Peripheral neuropathy

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Radiculopathy

  • Guillain-BarrΓ© syndrome

NCS is non-invasive, safe, and commonly performed alongside EMG (Electromyography) to assess both nerve and muscle health.
